Hey Everyone! We hope you are enjoying Labor Day weekend. We are just hanging out at home and relaxing! Brian’s job is going well and keeping him very busy.  His staff will show up next week and then the real craziness will begin! I think he has 4 days in September that have nothing scheduled for work. We are excited for Grandma Adams to come out for a visit next week to see friends and family in the area!

Also, here is our new contact info. Our cell phones are the same for now, but feel free to call us at home too!

Sorry about the long delay in blogging…oops! Here are the highlights of our past few months!

1. Moved from Beaver Falls. PA to Red Wing, MN to Seattle, WA.

2. Baby #2 is on the way! Due date is Feb. 11.

3. Brian started his new job today at Seattle Pacific University as a Residence Life Coordinator!

4. We love Seattle, but hate being 2 or 3 hours behind everyone.

5. Isabel is a chatterbox, although we can’t understand her most of the time.

6. We miss our friends and family, so you are all invited to come out and visit!

7. Did I mention how wonderful Seattle is?!

8. Thank you to our family’s for taking good care of us this summer – we love you!

9. I will try to blog more than once every 3 months…promise.

10. We can’t wait to see you when you come out for a visit!

15 Month Checkup

•June 16, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Isabel had her 15 month check up last week and everything is looking good. She was 24 pounds and almost 32 inches! Growing seems to be what she does best these days! Her vocabulary now includes, “home, hug, cheese(for the camera of course!), woof, meow, down, up, mama, daddy, book, hi, bye, uh-oh, okay, hello, hot, please, ahhm-kay(her version of Amen)”.  Some of her favorite things do are to read books, make animal noises, play ring around the rosie(either with someone or by herself!), play with her friend Toby, interact with people, especially strangers, and ask for hugs and kisses!  She is such a sweet, independent, and loving child and it is a pleasure to watch her interact with the world everyday.

Our (Eventual) Departure

•June 16, 2008 • Leave a Comment

Hey all, just a quick update from Beaver Falls (yup, we’re still in BF). Turns out that the Super Saturn isn’t so super this week… Friday, a day before our intended departure back to the midwest, the check engine light popped on. And before we knew it, our lovely Vue was sitting at the dealership, waiting for a seal to be overnighted from Saturn directly to repair a faulty one in ours. Although it’s delayed our plans a bit, it’s actually been kinda nice to take a little more time here to say goodbye, spend time with friends, and rest up. Not to mention that we won’t burn up our transmission now as we embark on the 13 hour drive back to Minnesota.

So, just a couple more days hopefully, and we’ll be heading home! Until then, there are a couple more pictures uploaded to Flickr to placate the grandmas out there, looking for an Izzy fix. Enjoy!

The Big Move

•June 8, 2008 • 1 Comment

In case you haven’t guessed it yet from our new blog picture….we are moving to Seattle!!! Brian accepted a job as a Residence Life Coordinator at Seattle Pacific University and will begin in August. We are very excited for this opportunity and look forward to exploring a new part of the country. Again, our apartment will be in a residence hall and Brian will be working alongside students to create a safe and fun learning/living community.  So if you find yourself out West or need an excuse to be there, give us a call! Our plan is to pack up and move to Red Wing for part of the summer to work(hopefully!) and spend time with family and friends. Who knows, maybe this will turn out to be a summer tradition!  Please keep us in your prayers as we will be traveling a lot in the next few months and for our transition to Seattle. The one thing we are grateful for is that our dear friend Jenn, will also be moving from Beaver Falls to Seattle and will be working with Brian! I think this will be great for us, but also for Izzy to have a familiar face and one that she loves – yeah Jenn!  We will be sad to leave some good friends behind at Geneva and are thankful for our time here (4 years!).  God truly blessed this experience and we will miss you all – thank you for your friendship(you know who you are!).

Day at the Zoo!

•May 14, 2008 • 4 Comments

Yesterday, we took a trip down to the Pittsburgh Zoo with friends Sara and Toby Jensen and April, Grace, and Abigail Emery! It was such a perfect day to be outside! Thanks to April and her connections with a zoo employee, we got to go for free! Thanks April!  Isabel loved seeing the animals, especially the lion and penguins. She roared at the lion and laughed when the penguins would swim by.  It was very cute. She also loved the elephant we got to see close up, but the smell ruined it for me! It was just a great day to explore and watch her react to all the new and exciting things she got to see.

family + Izzy = fun!

Not everything about this past weekend was bad.  Grandma Jensen and Aunt Chrissy came to visit from MN! Isabel loved hanging out with her family and getting to enjoy some extra attention. We did a lot of hanging around, but found time to shop at the outlet mall, take lots of walks, go to the park, and get pedicures! Thank you Grandma and Chrissy for coming to see us!

water + macbook = new macbook

•May 7, 2008 • 1 Comment

Yes, it is true. This week we had an accident (in which no one will be blamed because it was an accident) with our macbook. We won’t get into the details, but I think the title speaks for itself. And a new rule in the house.  No water or any other liquid will be set near the computer at any time. Too bad warranties don’t have an ‘oops!’ clause! However, I did find it interesting that in the protection plan, it states that they will not cover anything caused by an act of God.  What does that even mean?  Interesting that people don’t want to keep ‘God’ in the pledge of allegiance, but if He so happens to do anything to our electronics, we will then acknowledge His existence and blame him. Moral of the story….we are out of a computer for a little while and had to purchase a new one…Thank you Pres. Bush for the economic stimulus checks(funny that it was deposited into our account today and it was for the same amount as the computer!).  The end.

Back from Portugal

•April 21, 2008 • 1 Comment

Well, I have safely returned from Portugal and Brian and Isabel survived without me.  In fact, Brian seemed to have enjoyed my time away and his time as ‘mom’.  I had a great trip and don’t know where to begin – so I encourage you to look at the photos and see for yourself!  Isabel seemed to have grown while I was gone and has two new teeth.  I can’t believe how much she changed in just a week. It makes me appreciate the time I have everyday to watch her learn new things and grow up! If you are wondering where we will be living next year…join the club. Brian has been flown out to two schools(he’s actually at an interview now), and we are just waiting to hear the final word. If we end up at one of these schools, it’s looking like we’ll be out West. I’ll keep you posted on the details as we find out ourselves! We hope you are enjoying Spring!
